An experienced Cinematographer and a teacher, PJ Cherian has varied experiences in filmmaking, news covering for Television News channels and teaching. After graduation in science, he did a Diploma in Cinematography from Adayar Film Institute (1973-76). He had a stint of seven years with Doordarshan as a Cameraman. He worked as a cameraman at KSFDC, Trivandrum and engaged in productions. As part of Hyphen Communications he made documentaries and Ad films for both Doordarshan and Asianet. He also had a stint with mainstream film industry and worked as a Cinematographer for film ‘Samvalsarangal’. He worked for few years with Jeevan TV as a Chief Cameraman. Thereafter, joined with Manorama News as Principal Cameraman from 2006 to 2019.
