Currently working as an Assistant Professor on Folk Studies at Moulana College of Teacher Education (MCTE), Tirur, Dr. Satheesh is a maven in folk studies with an MPhil for the studies on ‘Dravidian culture of Andhra’. A well-known scholar on folk and tribal studies, Dr. Satheesh has presented papers on various topics including folklore and tribal music.
Participated in various workshops on ‘Ethnomusicology’, his studies on ‘Music of Irula community’ has been distinctly recognized by academic circles. His video-documentary called ‘Valayanadamma’ in Folklore perspective has gained accolades.
Satheesh who gained expertise on research methodology in humanities and social science from UGC, has also won Folklore academy award in 2004. His Books and articles include History of folkloristics, nadenperuma, Pracharanam folkloristics, Classmuriyile pavakali, and Folkloristics.
