Locarno Film Festival
Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland has already begun. This festival is considered as one of Europe’s most prestigious festivals. The Festival that has started from August 5 will end on 15 August. In the Open Doors Screenings section there will be 20 titles available for viewing worldwide exclusively online on the Locarno Film Festival website. Apart from online screenings, there will be VOD platforms, short films, and journeys into the history of cinema.

Venice International Film Festival
The 77th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera. It will take place at Venice Lido from 2 – 12 September 2020. Venice is on course to be the first major international festival to take place in a physical context since the pandemic hit earlier this year. Venice festival has added Luca Guadagnino short film ‘Fiori, Fiori, Fiori’ and U.S. school shooting thriller Run Hide Fight as out of competition screenings. Guadagnino’s 12-minute short sees the director travel to Sicily from Milan with a small crew during the pandemic.

The Atlanta Film Festival
The Atlanta Film Festival + Creative Conference (ATLFF), presented by WarnerMedia, announced today that the 44th annual event will now take place from Thursday, September 17 – Sunday, September 27, 2020. The festival was originally scheduled to take place in the spring, but was postponed last week due to precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the date announcement, the festival has also shared the lineup of creative works, feature-length and short films selected from a record-breaking 8,500+ submissions for the 2020 event.

The 39th edition of the Vancouver International Film Festival, running September 24 – October 7, will be presented as an online festival available to all British Columbians. To ensure the best possible user experience, VIFF is developing VIFF Connect, a new online streaming platform designed in partnership with CineSend, a Toronto-based industry leader in media solutions. This year, VIFF is offering an online program of 100 features, shorts, creator talks, as well as experiential and educational programming.
